Hyderabad: A team of doctors at Care Hospital performed a rare heart surgery on a 45-day-old baby. Addressing a press conference on Thursday, chief paediatric CT surgeon Tapan K. Dash said the 2.6-kg baby, Mohammed Abdul Qadir, was born with rare and multiple heart conditions due to which he was put on ventilation. A surgery was performed on him at Care Hospital.
The Hindu has quoted Dr. Dash as saying “We have repaired the valve. It was difficult to even hold the tissue as it was soft. We added an extra patch to it to enlarge it and the hole was narrowed down. On the 11th day, the baby was ready to go home.”
Kid’s condition is improving.
