Bhopal, October 26 (Pervez Bari): In a rare gesture of healthy politics the Bharatiya Janata Party ruled Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan called on the main Congress Leader of the Opposition in the State Vidhan Sabha Mr. Ajay Singh at his residence on Tuesday to greet him on the eve of the Diwali festival.
Mr. Chouhan drove down to Singh’s residence in Shivaji Nagar and stayed with Mr. Ajay Singh for about 25 minutes. He requested Mr. Singh to attend the Madhya Pradesh State Foundation Day celebrations on November one this year wherein noted playback singer, Asha Bhonsle will be the main attraction.
Mr. Singh reportedly said that it may not be possible for him to attend the celebrations as he would be away campaigning for the Harda Municipal elections on November 1.
Meanwhile, it may be stated here that Mr. Singh would not be celebrating Diwali this year as a mark of condolence to his father Mr. Arjun Singh who had passed away earlier this year. (pervezbari@eth.net)
