Rajya Sabha member Rapolu Anand Bhaskar on Monday complained to Governor ESL Narasimhan that he did not get any intimation or invitation to attend the swearing-in ceremonies held at Raj Bhavan.
Rapolu said that he did not get the invitation for swearing-in ceremony of Narasimhan as Governor of Telangana and also the swearing-in of first Council of Ministers of Telangana. He expressed pain and anguish over being denied an invitation to participate in the historic occasions.
“Normally, I keep away from paraphernalia, fanfare and celebration and do not expect the uneven courtesies. But, as the historic achievement of statehood is having a small role of me like tiny MPs, the symbolic presence of ours will enhance the dignity of the occasions. Hence, I record my agony,” Rapolu said in his letter addressed to the Governor.
Rapolu requested the Governor to ensure expeditious verification and detailed communication for the exclusionist situation, based on which, he might have to address the Privileges Committee of Rajya Sabha for redress and future corrections. (INN)
