Rape-threat: Congress spokesperson get threat directed towards daughter

New Delhi: Congress Spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi received rape-threat directed towards her daughter just days after External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj was trolled on Twitter for granting inter-faith couple passport.

Women getting rape threats by social radical outfits have alarmingly increased over the past few years with Police taking no control over the matter. The issue of rape threat is condemned by Journalists, Politicians, common man, DC reported.

Congress spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi got the rape threat directed at her daughter late on Sunday by a twitter handle named @GirishK1605, which was reportedly taken down after she filed a complaint with Mumbai police.

Sharing the indecent warning tweet on her timeline, Chaturvedi said that the troll account had a picture of Lord Ram as his display picture but yet had disgusting mentality to pass such comments about her daughter.

The tweet was taken down after she approached the Police regarding the threat.

In her response to the tweet, Chaturvedi tweeted: “You are running your Twitter handle in the name of Lord Ram. First, you have picked up a false statement and then you are making a indecent remark against my daughter. Be ashamed of yourself else Lord Ram will only teach you a lesson.”

The twitter handle which goes by the name @GirishK1605 had tweeted: “@priyankac19 Priyanka I want to rape your daughter. Send your daughter to me.”

Previously, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj was trolled online for helping the inter-caste couple get a passport which was surprisingly supported by 43 percent of respondents agreeing with the abusive troll against the Minister.

One of the twitter handle by the name Mukesh Gupta had even tagged the Swaraj’s husband and former governor of Mizoram, Swaraj Kaushal asking him to “beat her up”.

The tweet read: “When she comes home tonight why don’t U beat her up & teach her not to do Muslim appeasement tell her Muslims will never ever vote for BJP.”
