Panaji (Goa) : Expelled Congress leader and Cruz MLA Atanasio Monserrate alias Babush, who was accused of raping a minor a minor girl, surrendered before the crime branch of Goa Police on Thursday.
The Goa Police yesterday registered an FIR against Monserrate for allegedly raping a minor girl.
Monserrate, who was expelled from the Congress a year ago, is an unattached member in the Goa Assembly.
He had recently announced of taking control of the United Goans Democratic Party (UGDP) with eyes on the next assembly polls scheduled in early 2017.(ANI)
