Karachi : Former Pakistan captain and renowned commentator Ramiz Raja believes that newly-appointed T20 skipper Sarfraz Ahmed can take a leaf out of his Indian counterpart Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s book.
Sarfraz succeeded struggling all-rounder Shahid Afridi to command the national team on Tuesday following Pakistan’s early exit from the World Twenty20.
Ramiz said that Sarfraz was a natural choice for T20 captain and suggested that the 28-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman could learn a lot from ‘class wicket-keeper’ Dhoni, the Dawn reported.
The former captain opined that Sarfraz should also be handed over the captaincy of the Test side when Misbah-ul-Haq announces his expected retirement after the England series in July.
Dhoni has catapulted India to great heights over the last decade, leading his side to the No.1 Test rankings for 18 months starting December 2009, winning the 50-over World Cup in 2011 and the World Twenty20 on his captaincy debut in 2007. (ANI)
