New Delhi, January 5: The noted film director, Mr Ramgopal Varma, whose “Rakta Charitra” was based on the story of the slain faction leader Maddelacheruvu Suri, said that he was shocked. In a post in Twitter, he said that Suri was the inspiration for him to produce ‘Rakta Charitra’. He said that during his research for the film, he was in touch with Suri and was very much disturbed on hearing about his death.
Mr Varma visited the jail in Anantapur, scene of the faction war to meet Suri.
Mr Vivek Oberoi, who acted as Paritala Ravindra and Surya donned the role of Suri. Mr Satrughan Sinha acted as the actor-turned-politician late N T Rama Rao.
