Retired IAS officer K V Ramanachary joined the TRS here on Sunday.
Party chief K Chandrasekhara Rao while admitting him in the party said the party needed the services of such eminent and knowledgeable persons. He immediately appointed Ramanachary as a Politburo member of the party.
It may be recalled that Ramanachary was aspiring for a Lok Sabha seat, and earlier reports said that KCR wanted to give the Medak seat to him, shifting the sitting MP Vijaya Santi. However, Vijaya Santi reportedly threatened to join BJP if she was denied Medak seat. She openly said she would not leave Medak for a retired IAS officer. She said if KCR himself wanted to contest from there, she might leave the seat to him. It should be seen which seat would Ramanachary be allotted.
Ramanachary has opted for voluntary retirement some time back and then he was appointed Advisor for cultural affairs. The one year term expired recently.
