Raman Singh chairs high-level meeting on Naxalism, development in Naxal areas

Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India]: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh on Saturday chaired a high level review meeting with all top brass of the state police on Naxal issue and development in Naxal prone areas.

Director General of Police (DGP) AN Upadhyay, Special DG Anti Naxal operations DM Awasthi, Secretary Home, Chhattisgarh BVR Subrahmanyam, Inspector General (IG) and Superintendent of Police’S (SP) of Bastar were also present in a the meeting at Chief Minister’s residence.

“This meeting was to discuss the development work in naxal prone areas. Many developmental works were stopped due to monsoon. This meeting was development oriented,” DGP AN Upadhyay told the media.

Singh earlier said that his government had vowed to free Chhattisgarh from the control of Naxalism before year 2022.

Singh stated that his government is committed to uproot naxalism in the next five years.

“We have taken a pledge to free Chhattisgarh from the menace of naxalism before 2022 and we will do it. I and my team today again take the resolve to end naxalism,” Singh earlier said while addressing the ‘Sankalp Se Siddhi’ programme at the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College. (ANI)
