Well-known educationist and MLC Chukka Ramaiah today warned that the people of the region would not tolerate if the culture and traditions of the Telangana region were belittled and ridiculed.
Participating in the “Alay-Balai” (Dasara Milan) program organized by senior BJP leader and former Union minister Bandaru Dattatreya at Jal Vihar on the Necklace Road here, Ramaiah condemned anti-Telangana trend and demanded a ban on the movies which belittled and ridiculed the culture and traditions of the Telangana region.
Speaking on the occasion, senior Congress leader and former member of Congress Working Committee K Keshav Rao said that people’s associations have every right to question us (Congress leaders) on the separate Telangana issue. He suggested that the Telangana Political JAC give a prominent place in the agitation to those who sincerely chanted “Jai Telangana”.
Speaking at the same venue, TPJAC chairman Prof. Kodandaram asked all those who yearned for separate Telangana State to shun leadership of Seemandhra leaders. He also asked the money-crazy leaders not to roam with the Andhra leaders and join hands with them for the sake of money bags.
As the meeting was going on, the Telangana protagonists raised slogans demanding that Major Industries Minister Dr J. Geeta Reddy resign from her minister’s post and plunge into the Telangana movement. (NSS)
