Rama Navami procession in Asansol: Clashes break out, crude bombs reportedly hurled

Asansol: Clashes took place at Raniganj area of Asansol, West Bengal during Rama Navami celebrations. Bombs were also reportedly hurled at police.

According to the report published in Zee News, Deputy Commissioner of Police is reportedly injured after miscreants hurled bombs at him and other cops.

When the procession was passing in front of a masjid, sloganeering began. When police tried to control the situation, stones were pelted at them. Crude bombs were also hurled. A senior police officer who was injured rushed to the hospital. Five more cops were also reportedly injured. After the incident, a huge police force has been deployed.

It may be mentioned that in Purulia, West Bengal, one person was killed and five cops were injured due to a clash during Ram Navami procession on Sunday.
