Legal luminary Ram Jethmalani, who is representing YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in the High Court, where his bail petition was being heard, met him in the Chanchalguda Jail here on Thursday morning.
Jagati Publications vice-chairman and a Jagan confidant Vijaya Sai Reddy accompanied the Supreme Court lawyer.
Talking to the media later, Ram Jethmalani said that even a convicted prisoner has constitutional rights. He charged the government with depriving Jagan, who was under remand, his constitutional rights. Preventing him from participating in the election campaigning was in total violation of Jagan’s rights, he contended. He said that the media, government and people should make a note of this point. He said that he had discussed with Jagan about the case. (NSS)
