Hyderabad, February 06 (INN): Processions and religious meetings marked the celebration of birth anniversary of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Milad-un-Nabi) across the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad on Sunday.
Several religious leaders took out Milad processions from different localities, which reached the Old City. The Qutba-e-Milaad was recited at Mecca Masjid by Moulana Abdullah Qureshi Al-azhari, deputy rector of Jamia Nizamia. Later, a grand procession led by noted religious leader Moulana Syed Auliya Hussaini was taken out from Mecca Masjid to Moghalpura playground.
Relics of Holy Prophet Muhammad were also displayed at Mecca Masjid, Masjid-e-Shattariya, Quadri Chaman, Dargah-e-Yousufain, Siddiq Gulshan and a few other places in the city.
Decorative arches and models of ‘Khana Ka’aba’ and ‘Roza-e-Rasool’ (Peace Be Upon Him) were erected at several places. Banners inscribed with Quranic verses, Hadith and poetic verses were displayed during the procession. Muslims gathered in large numbers to recite special prayers in all the mosques. Green buntings, flags and banners adorn the roads all over the city.
The celebrations began from Saturday night itself. Nearly two lakh people attended the public meeting Jalsa-e-Rahmatulil Aalameen at Darulsalaam which was addressed by Syed Ataullah Hussain, a prominent scholar from Pakistan, Jamia Nizamia rector Mufti Khaleel Ahmed and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi among others. In Himmatpura, a Naatiya mehfil or congregation of Naat was organised by Anjuman-e-Karwan-e-Hassan which was attended by thousands of Muslims.
On Sunday, the largest congregation was seen at Nizam College Grounds where Majlis-e-Tameer Millat organised Jalsa-e-Rahmatul Lil-alameen. Another meeting held at Khilwat Grounds organised by Markazi Majlis-e-Ahle Sunnatul Jamaat was also attended by hundreds of Muslims.
Elaborate arrangements were made by the City Police to ensure peaceful conduct of the celebrations. (INN)
