Ahmed Patel slams BJP says arrested youths worked in hospital inaugurated by PM

New Delhi: Two Muslim youths Ubed Mirza, 29, and Kasim Steamerwala, 31, in Gujarat were arrested last week on October 25 for allegedly plotting terror attack on a synagogue in Ahmedabad.

Referring the recent arrests of the two Gujarati youth’s, Rajya Sabha MP Ahmed Patel on Wednesday addressing the rally in Jambusar, said the youth’s suspected of having links with Islamic state had previously worked at a hospital run by the BJP and that the hospital was inaugurated by the PM.

MP Patel’s remark comes soon after Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani accused him of “managing” the hospital which employed the youth.

Rupani had earlier in a statement said accused MP Patel of employing the suspected youth’s in the hospital and that he should also resign.

He said, “BJP is talking about terrorism; Congress leaders have suffered because of terrorism”. He added, “I conducted a research. He worked in hospitals instituted by BJP leaders. Care Hospital where he (the suspect) worked was inaugurated by the Prime Minister.”

“The BJP is asking for my resignation from the Rajya Sabha because they are nervous. I won the seat due to our MLAs… let the judiciary take a call in the case” said Patel.

In a meeting at BJP headquarters in Koba, Gandhinagar last Saturday, CM Rupani said, “Ahmed Patel is the person running the show at the hospital in Bharuch where (the suspect) was employed. Patel was earlier a trustee of the hospital from which he resigned in 2014. However, he continued to run the show at the hospital where President Pranab Mukherjee was invited to inaugurate the premises in 2016.”
