New Delhi, July 31 : The Rajya Sabha has been adjourned today till August 3 with the opposition Congress insisting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should make a statement on the action he has initiated against Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in connection with the Vyapam scam.
The Rajya Sabha earlier witnessed three adjournments in the pre-lunch period today on the Vyapam scam controversy.
The treasury bench members earlier opposed the Congress’ demand for Prime Minister Modi’s statement on the Vyapam scam, saying the government is ready for discussion.
Despite repeated assurances from the government, the opposition members trooped into the well forcing Rajya Sabha chairman Mohammed Hamid Ansari to adjourn the House till Monday. (ANI)
