New Delhi: The Rajya Sabha was on Monday adjourned till 2 p.m. amid protests by the opposition soon after it met for the day.
As soon as Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu announced that he had rejected the notices given by some opposition MPs under Rule 267 (suspension of business to discuss a particular issue), the opposition members came near the Chair’s podium and started shouting slogans.
Naidu adjourned the House till 2 p.m.
The Upper House is due to discuss the motion of thanks on the President’s address to Parliament.
