New Delhi: The Rajya Sabha was on Monday adjourned for the day amid pandemonium without transacting any business.
As soon as the House was reconvened at 2 p.m. after an earlier adjournment, Deputy Chairman Harivansh proposed to take up the motion of thanks to the President’s address.
However, some opposition members trooped to the Chair’s podium and started shouting slogans.
The Chair requested the members to go back to their seats and let the House function. When they did not relent, the Chair adjourned the House for the day.
The Upper House has not transacted any business in this session, which is the last session before the next Lok Sabha election.
