Hyderabad, October 28: Satyam scam accused Ramalinga Raju is likely to surrender to the police on Nov. 10, the deadline set for him by the Supreme Court, which cancelled the bail given to him and five fellow suspects on Tuesday.
With a two-judge bench rescinding his bail, the former chairman of Satyam Computer has no scope to appeal against the order and therefore has no option but to get back in jail.
Also, the prospects of him taking refuge again in hospital are said to be limited. Said to be suffering from hepatitis C, Raju was discharged from the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences on Oct. 2 with instructions from the doctors that he take 11 more weekly injections under scrupulously clean conditions.
As per those prescriptions, Raju would require a further few weeks to complete his course of injections. Sources say there is limited likelihood of him spending his remand in hospital yet again.
The trial of the case is scheduled to commence from Nov. 2 and the Supreme Court has set a deadline of July 31 for its completion.
With 670 witnesses to testify, the trial may have to be a rush, sources said.
