Hyderabad, November 11: After having home food for the last few days, former Satyam Computers chairman B Ramalinga Raju will have to eat self-cooked food in his exclusive barracks in Chanchalguda jail from tomorrow.
Officials of Chanchalguda Jail told Express that Ramalinga Raju, his brother Rama Raju and Vadlamani Srinivas, who were sent in remand on Wednesday, would be extended the same special facilities which they had enjoyed during their earlier stint in the jail. “Since it is the same case and same persons, there will not be any deviation from the earlier facilities extended to them,” Chanchalguda incharge superintendent Umapathi said.
The three accused will be provided B-class facilities in the jail and will be allowed a separate cot, table, kitchen, wash rooms and newspapers. They will be allowed to cook their own food in the barracks.
“But the three, during their earlier stay in the jail, never used to take food properly.
Their daily intake used to be extremely limited,” an official said.
B-class facility is given to prisoners by the magistrate based on their income and educational background.
Ramalinga Raju and others will be allowed to have some articles, bought by them, in their barracks.
“It could be things like utensils and provisions to cook their food,” Umapathi added.
