New Delhi: Addressing a gathering, Rajratna Ambedkar, chairman of the Buddhist Society of India (BSI) said that he had realized the BJP’s intention to change the Constitution of India in 2015 itself.
CAA protests
Appreciating the efforts of protesters against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) 2019, Ambedkar said that he is now confident that no one can change the Constitution of India.
Talking about NRC, Ambedkar said that if it is implemented, Adivasi will become the first to lose Citizenship.
Explaining the provision of the CAA, he said that BJP Govt. is not bringing citizens from other countries rather voters who will vote BJP in elections.
He declared that protests will be organized across the country till the government repeals CAA.
Ambedkar submits petition before USCIRF
During the address, he disclosed that on 1st October 2019, he had submitted a petition before the US Commission of International Religious Freedom (USCIRF). In the petition, he alleged that attempts are being made to convert India into ‘Hindu Rashtra’.
He alleged that USCIRF is in the process to impose a ban on Prime Minister and Union Home Minister of India.
At the end of his address, he applauded the students of JNU, JMI, AMU and other universities for raising their voice in favour of the constitution.
