Rajnath Singh meets RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat

New Delhi, November 11: Amid search for a new leader for the party in the backdrop of the Lok Sabha poll debacle, BJP President Rajnath Singh today met RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat seeking to bring a consensus on the ticklish issue.

Singh’s tenure as party chief is concluding on December 31 and there have been clear hints from the party that there would be no second term for him.

After facing a second successive defeat in the Lok Sabha polls, BJP is banking on Bhagwat’s guidance in reviving the party and to help in resolving the leadership issue amid various pulls and pressures.

Sources said Bhagwat has already set the criteria for choosing a new party president. The person should not be more than 60 years of age, be a RSS man and should have dynamism and energy to revitalise the party.
