Deputy Chief Minister Damodara Rajanarsimha has stated that political parties should have the courage and strength to keep up the word given to the people.
The Deputy Chief Minister on Friday had the darshan of Lord Narasimha swamy at the famous Yadagirigutta. Speaking on the occasion, he gave a counter to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, who was supporting the Samaikyandhra movement, after informing the High Command that he would abide by its decision. Rajanarsimha reminded that the Telangana issue was clearly mentioned in the 2004 and again 2009 election Manifestoes of the Congress party. When the issue was mentioned in the party Manifestoes, Kiran Kumar Reddy was in the Congress party. He said that Kiran Kumar Reddy should have resigned then itself, if he was against mention of Telangana issue in the Manifestoes.
Rajanarsimha reiterated that Hyderabad is part and parcel of Telangana. He questioned Kiran Reddy whether those of one region alone are people and the Telangana people were not. He said he was leaving it to the political wisdom of the Chief Minister.
It may be recalled that the Chief Minister has said yesterday that if peoples’ wishes were not recognized and taken note of by the leaders, the people themselves would reject such political parties. The Deputy Chief Minister reacted on it today. (NSS)
