Hyderabd, October 19: Andhra Pradesh Rajiv Swagruha Corporation Senior General Manager (Marketing) Bharath Reddy today said the ‘Rajiv Swagruha’ scheme was beneficial for all sections of the people as the Corporation was providing houses at 25 per cent less than the market value.
Addressing a press conference here, he said the State Government
had established the Corporation for construction of houses for low, middle and higher income groups of people at cheaper prices with modern and latest facilities for the owners.
He said the Corporation was constructing the houses by self financing of the individuals on the concept of cost to cost without any profits as the government’s intention was to provide own houses to all sections of the people in the state. Mr Reddy said the Corporation, which was established in 2007, had taken up 91 projects at various places in the state and out of them 34 projects had already been grounded and the works on the remaining were going on in full swing. He said the foundation stone for the construction of 1,140 flats in two sizes- single and double bedrooms- on an extent of 16.20 acres of land under first Rajiv Swagruha phase-two at the city outskirts Chandnagar, was laid on March 2007 and the project was completed in August last.
Stating that the market survey in the area showed that the prevailing market rate was Rs 2,500 per square feet, he said the cost of flat was Rs 1,635 per square feet in Chandnagar for single bed room and Rs 1,750 for double bedroom, including all facilities, and there was no hidden cost.
He said those who paid the entire cost in lump sum were geting flat of their choice as per the incentive scheme of the Corporation and for others houses would be allotted on lottery basis.
He said the Corporation would conduct lottery for 904 flats tomorrow at Chandnagar and hand over the houses to the owners.
