Rajiv Sharma reviews Metro Rail works

Telangana Chief Secretary Dr. Rajiv Sharma conducted Special Task Force (STF) meeting on Tuesday and reviewed the progress of Hyderabad Metro Rail project.

HMR Managing Director NVS Reddy made a detailed presentation on the Action Taken Report (ATR) on the decisions of the STF meeting held on February 21.

The Chief Secretary reviewed the status of 281 properties (214 private & 67 Government Vested Municipal Properties – GVM). NVS Reddy informed the Chief Secretary that since the last STF meeting, 24 properties have been dismantled and that for another 125 properties, cheques will be issued soon. The CS appreciated this progress and fixed target dates for the remaining properties.

Dr Sharma while reviewing the progress on finalisation of DPR for construction of 3rd bridge connecting Rang Mahal junction to Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station directed Principal Secretary MAUD to hold a joint meeting with Irrigation Department, TSRTC and HMR for resolving the technical parameters of the proposed 3rd bridge.

M.Jitendar, Addl. Commissioner of Police (Traffic) made a presentation suggesting remedial measures to be taken up for minimising the traffic inconveniences being caused due to execution of Metro Rail works. He has also indicated various improvement/ rectification works to be taken up by L&T MRHL and GHMC. Dr Sharma suggested that Commissioner GHMC shall hold a weekly meeting with all concerned i.e., GHMC, Traffic Police Cyberabad & Hyderabad, HMWS&SB, TSSPDCL, HMR and L&TMRHL to formulate the improvement/ rectification works to be taken up.
