Jaipur, October 28: Magsaysay awardee Rajendra Singh who recently parted his way from Team Anna, along-with social activist V Rajgopal, has charged the Gandhian s team with power brokering and slammed them for giving clean chit to corrupt(s) in the Hissar Parliamentary bye-poll.
Whose pioneering work on water harvesting and river protection earned him nick name of water-man , termed as power brokering , the Team Anna s move of supporting a group against the Congress and said I could not have been a party to this power brokering and hence I opted to move out . Terming as undemocratic, the Gandhian s decision for taking side in the Hissar bye-poll, Mr Singh said, that in the beginning of it there was clear understanding that the crusade would be partyless and the Team would not take side.
However, suddenly on my return from Nairobi I came to know the move and found myself in no option but to part my way along-with Rajgopal , Mr Singh said adding that his intention to join the team was to further a good movement and advancing his cause of protection of Jal, Jungle and Jamin (protecting as common properties water, forest and lands). Criticising, arrogant attitude and working of Team Anna members, particularly Kiran Bedi and Arvind Kejriwal, the Waterman said power have gone up on their minds . Targeting Anna Hazare, Mr Singh remarked Anna also forgot power belonged to the people and observed this only coupled with media s support made the Anna s crusade in Delhi a success . He refuted allegation of his decision of parting way from the stir under pressure/influence of Congress General Secretary former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh and asserted that this was baseless and I am not scared of any one any leader or party. I don t take funds from them .
