Patna, October 24: Senior BJP leader and former party chief Rajnath Singh today accused the Centre of pressurising the Rajasthan government to falsely implicate RSS leader Indresh Kumar in the Ajmer blast case.
The development smacks of ‘political conspiracy’ to influence the ongoing Assembly polls in Bihar and defame a nationalist organisation like RSS, which also played a vital role during Emergency, he told a press conference here.
“It has been strategically timed under the conspiracy to influence the ongoing elections in Bihar… Whenever the Congress has made such sinister attempts it has faced the consequences,” he said claiming the people were determined to give NDA another chance in the state.
Referring to the demand by Rahul Gandhi for banning RSS, Singh said a similar attempt was made in 1992 and subsequently BJP had defeated Congress and formed the government at the Centre.
