Rajasthan govt. failed to rein in communal elements: Shabbir Ahmed

New Delhi: Expressing deep concern over the killings of Muslims, Vice President Jamiat Ulama Rajasthan, Shabbir Ahmed said that Rajasthan government has failed to rein in communal elements. A delegation met Rajasthan Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria and expressed their grief over the killings of Pehlu Khan, Zafar Khan, Umar Khan and Afrazul Islam. The delegation told that every peace-loving citizen of the country is feeling tense due to the cold blooded murder of Afrazul. The delegation said that killing of innocents by a private group is agonizing.

The delegation also discussed the baseless ‘love jihad’ issue and said such baseless issues highlighted in Rajasthan to promote hate and animosity against Muslims. They also recalled hate literature distributed by Bajrang Dal.

The delegation submitted a memorandum demanding Rs. 20 lakh ex-gratia to the family of Afrazul. They also demanded that hate contents from the school syllabus should be deleted. The delegation asked the government to appoint a nodal officer in each district as per Supreme Court’s order, who can act as a watchdog and convey truth to the government.
