Rajakumari apologises, TD chief forgives her

Hyderabad, April 22: Telugu Desam senior leader and MLC Nannapaneni Rajakumari today tendered an apology to party president N Chandrababu Naidu for her outburst against the party leadership in Guntur district recently.

Accepting her apology, Naidu warned Rajakumari against repeating such utterances.

As directed by the party leadership, Rajakumari appeared before the two-member committee today to give her explanation on her objectionable remarks against the party.

The committee members, Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and Garikapati Mohan Rao, told Rajakumari that any TDP leader should target the Congress at public meetings but not his or her own party. They felt that Rajakumari had made the critical remakrs out of emotion.

Later, Rajakumari, along with the committee members, met Naidu at the party office. Naidu warned her not to repeat such remarks in future, which would sully the image of the party. She then apologised to Naidu.

Naidu’s message to Rajakumari was that she should wage a war against other parties but not against the TDP. Rajakumari explained that the issue was aggravated due to the counter remarks made by Hyderabad former mayor Teegala Krishna Reddy. The electronic media added fuel to the fire, she alleged.

Speaking to reporters later, Rajakumari said that she said `sorry’ to Naidu and vowed to work for the party.

“As she apologised to the party president, the controversy was a close chapter now,’’ Ramakrishnudu said.
