Rajaiah, Uttam Kumar gets warm reception

Two political personalities got the most media attention on the first day of budget session of Telangana Legislative Assembly. While one got demotion, another got promotion in the recent past. However, both were given a warm reception by the colleagues.

Former Deputy Chief Minister Dr T Rajaiah was apparently surprised when he was received by Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy, Minister Jogu Ramanna, Parliamentary Secretary Srinivas Goud and other TRS legislators. The Home Minister walked towards Rajaiah, gave a warm hand shake and offered a TRS khandwa. While he was about to move inside the House, Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali came in and greeted Rajaiah with warmth.

Congress MLA Uttam Kumar Reddy, who has recently been appointed as the TPCC chief, too was given a warm reception on his arrival to the Assembly. He was received by several Congress legislators, who later accompanied him to the House.

However, the colourful padyatra by the BJP legislators proved to be a show stopper. The video journalists and photographers who were capturing different moods of legislators turned their attention to the BJP MLAs who entered the Assembly premises by holding placards against the GHMC’s forced collection of Property Tax.

The MIM MLAs were clad in traditional sherwanis and as always, maintained a low profile. (INN)
