Raja rithvik bags another Gold Medal

R. Raja Rithvik of Hyderabad bagged Gold Medal in the AP-Telangana Under-11 Chess Championship-2014 today held at Vijayawada from July 11 to 14. Rithvik scored the maximum of 6 points and has shown total supremacy throughout the tournament in which more than 100 players participated. Presently, he has International rating of 1742.
With his glittering performance, Rithvik has been selected to participate in the prestigious National Chess Championship to be conducted by All India Chess Federation at Puri, Odisha from July 23 to August 1. Raja Rithvik, studying Class VI in Orchids International School, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, has clinched the prestigious title conducted commonly for both AP and Telangana. Raja Rithvik is a student of Cyber Chess Academy and being trained and guided by Lanka Ravi, a reputed National Coach. In recognition of his excellent performance of bagging three Gold Medals in Asian School Chess Championship at Sri Lanka, World Chess Federation (FIDE) has conferred the Title of Candidate Master (CM) on Raja Rithvik recently.
AP State Chess Association president A. Narasimha Reddy has congratulated Raja Rithvik for winning the State Championship. He hoped that the lad, with his brilliance and sharpness on the board will definitely come out with flying colors in the National Championship. (NSS)
