Raj Thackeray receives threat, gets Y security cover

Mumbai, December 17: A day after Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray received death threats from a ‘Bihari’ organization, the state government has now provided him ‘Y’ security cover.

“Earlier this week, Raj received a letter from a Bihari organization, which said one of their members would kill him (Raj) as he is dividing the nation,” Raj’s lawyer Shayaji Nagare said.

The letter was signed by one Ashok Kumar Singh, who claimed to be the president of the organization. A complaint was lodged regarding this at the Shivaji Park police station in central Mumbai, Nagare said.

Following the threats, the government decided to give Raj ‘Y’ security. Raj will now be protected by two carbine-wielding cops, police sources said.
