New Delhi, Oct.20 : National Panthers Party (NPP) chief Bhim Singh on Tuesday said that the raising of the Pakistani flag and the shouting of anti-India slogans at the funeral of Zahid Rasool Bhat, was very unfortunate and condemnable.
“I highly condemn this incident. What happened in Srinagar specially raising the Pakistani flag during the last rites of the trucker was very unfortunate. This was an insult to him by those who have done it. Raising the Pakistani flag at the time of Bhat’s last rites is condemnable,” Singh told ANI here.
“You need immediate change in the government, let Delhi understand this. This government must go for the interest of peace in the sub-continent,” Singh added.
Meanwhile, normal life was crippled in Kashmir valley on Monday as a complete shutdown was observed to protest the death of a trucker, who died on Sunday, nine days after he and another driver, were set afire by a mob in Udhampur.
Separatist groups, including the Hurriyat factions headed by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Syed Ali Geelani, had called for protests and shutdown. Dozens of mourners were observed raising Pakistani flag during the last rites of Bhat.(ANI)
