Raising Kashmir issue at UNGA is ‘futile’: Defence expert

Bhopal, Sept. 25 : Defence expert Major General (retired) S.R. Sinho on Friday said that raising the Kashmir issue at the UN General Assembly is ‘futile’ unless Pakistan stops terrorist activities across the border.

“Raising this issue in UNO is absolutely futile and meaningless unless Pakistan stops terrorist activities across the border, then only this Kashmir issue can be talked about. There is no question of third party coming in the affairs of India and Pakistan,” Sinho told ANI.

“It is a matter of concern that 101 times Pakistan has gone to the UNO raising the Kashmir issue, but nothing has happened. This UN resolution has become totally redundant. The Americans have rejected, the European countries have rejected and people understand that it has got no meaning,” he added.

Sinho further said that India has made it very clear that if Pakistan wants to talk about Kashmir, they should stop their terrorist activities and ceasefire violations across the border .

Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) today said that India will reply if Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif raises the Kashmir issue in his address at the UN General Assembly. (ANI)
