Rains lash parts of Rajasthan

Jaipur: Pre-monsoon rains lashed parts of Rajasthan today with Banswara district receiving the maximum rainfall in the state at 11 cm.

Banswara was followed by Ajmer which registered a rainfall of 4 cm, the MeT Department here said.

Several places in Rajsamand, Bundi, Dungapur, Pali, Jaisalmer and Jodhpur districts received 3 cm of rains while many other areas recorded below 3 cm of rainfall, it said.

Barmer was recorded as the hottest place in the state with a maximum of 41.6 degree Celsius.

Churu, Sriganganagar and Pilani recorded their maximum temperatures at 41, 39.8 and 39.1 degrees Celsius respectively, the Department said.

The weatherman has predicted thunderstorms at few places in the eastern and isolated areas in the western parts of the state in the next 24 hours.
