New Delhi, August 14: Delhiites woke up to a pleasant morning today with light to heavy rains in various parts of the city bringing the mercury down and adding to the festive spirit of Janmashtami.
While heavy overnight showers lashed parts of north Delhi, some areas of east and south Delhi experienced drizzle early in the morning. There were reports of waterlogging from some areas in the north.
The city received 6.8 mm of rains till 8.30 am, the Met office said. The minimum temperature recorded in the morning was 26.5 degree Celsius. The high yesterday was 36.5 degree Celsius, three notches above normal at this time of the season.
The weatherman has forecast a generally cloudy sky with possibility of rains or thundershowers, including one or two spells of heavy showers in some areas. The maximum will hover around 34 degree Celsius.
Delhiites had to suffer hot and humid weather for the past one week, with rains playing truant.
