Uttar Pradesh, September 20: At least 12 people lost their lives in rain-related incidents in Uttar Pradesh where flood situation continued in several districts due to rise in level of major rivers.
Six persons, including a mother-daughter duo, were killed in Hardoi district, while as many deaths have been reported from Bareilly, Pilibhit, Moradabad and Rampur in wall and roof collapse incidents since Saturday, officials said here.
According to the Central Water Commission, the Ganga was flowing at danger mark in Gumatia (Kannauj), Ankinghat (Kanpur dehat), Kanpur and Dalmau (Rae Bareilly) and was rising at Fafamau and Chatnag in Allahabad, Mirzapur, Varanasi and Ballia.
The Ramganga was flowing above the red mark in Moradabad and was rising in Bareilly and Dabri (Shahjahanpur). The Yamuna was rising at Bagahpat, Mohna, Kalpi, Hamirpur, Naini (Allahabad) and Chillaghat (Banda).
