Hyderabad, April 18: Thundershowers and hailstorm lashed Shamshabad, Rajendranagar, Hayatnagar and Patancheru areas in the twin cities on Sunday.
Heavy rain occurred in many places in Rayalaseema and North Andhra districts.
However, the meteorological department has predicted light to moderate showers in many parts in twin cities and its suburban localities in the next two days.
The MeT officials also said that rain would occur in many places in Rayalaseema region and Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts of north Andhra region in the next 48 hours as the activity of thundershowers has been vigorous over Rayalaseema and north Andhra region.
In the twin cities, though the maximum temperature might shoot up but thundershowers are likely in many parts. Hyderabad recorded a temperature of 38.8 degrees Celsius on Sunday.
“An upper air trough was formed between Telangana and north Andhra regions and it has been vigorous over Rayalaseema and north Andhra region. Under its influence, thundershowers or rains are likely in many parts in the twin cities,’’ the MeT officials said.
