Heavy rain once again lashed several parts of the capital city on Thursday afternoon. While it was a respite for the citizens as it cooled the temperatures, it also rekindled fears of another possible inundation in the low-lying areas. However, there was respite after half-an-hour.
The city was just out of a harrowing experience when an 8cm rainfall in three hours flooded several places and caused major traffic snarls and power outings. Rain was reported from Nampally, Abids, Hyderguda, Khairatabad, Lakdikapul, Tankbund and Necklace Road. Moderate rain was reported from Secunderabad, Bowenpalli, Begumpet, Chilkalguda and Trimulgherry. At many places, traffic snarls slowed down the vehicular movement. (NSS)
