Rain brings relief from heat wave conditions in Haryana, Punjab

Chandigarh: Following rainfall over the region on Thursday, maximum temperatures dropped at most places across Haryana and Punjab giving relief to people from heat wave conditions prevailing in the past few days.

The maximum temperatures dipped by five to 13 degrees Celsius from the average, Met department said here.

In Haryana’s Narnaul town, which saw 45 degrees plus temperatures in recent days, the maximum temperature on Thursday was 26.5 degrees, 13 degrees below average.

Hisar town in Haryana saw a high of 30.5 degrees, nine degrees below average. Bhiwani recorded a high of 30.9 degrees.

Amritsar city in neighbouring Punjab recorded a high of 28 degrees, 10 degrees below average.

Ludhiana and Patiala cities recorded highs of 27.2 and 32.4 degrees respectively.

Chandigarh recorded a high of 31 degrees, six degrees below average.

The city and its surrounding areas received rainfall on Thursday morning.
