Rain alert again in city: CM reviewed the situation

In the wake of heavy rains lashing city inundating many roads causing much inconvenience to road users and residents in low-lying areas, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today alerted officials to remain extra cautious to provide immediate help and succor to the people.


KCR who is in New Delhi to attend the Apex Council Meeting with Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharathi, has reviewed the situation of heavy rains in the twin cities.


The Chief Minister interacted with GHMC and other officials and gave instructions to overcome the problems caused by heavy rains. As Hussain Sagar is full with water and other lakes and water bodies are filled up with rain water, he asked the officials to shift the people living in low-lying areas to safer places and take all measures to ensure that the people won’t put to hardship.

          He stressed the need for preventive measures by alerting people not to venture onto roads clogged with waters. GHMC and other officials have to attend on time the calls received at control room on the rain related problems. Rescue operations be taken up involving staff of disaster management, police and army services. KCR also asked the health officials to be ready to avert the spread of contagious disease as the rains to hit the city for another two days. (NSS)
