The Railway Central Hospital located at South Lallaguda had successfully performed a record number of 159 Special Surgeries during the year 2011-12.
According to the South Central Railway, apart from special surgeries, the hospital had carried out 2023 other major surgeries also during the period. The types of special surgeries include Joint Replacement, Neuro Surgery, Cancer Surgery, Laparoscopic Surgery and Endo Urological Procedure.
These surgeries were carried out with utmost care by a team of highly qualified Doctors deploying latest special equipments free of cost, the SCR said. Each surgery took three to four hours and would cost about Rs 3 to 6 lakh if it were to be done by any corporate hospital. The patients convalesced in minimum time after the surgeries and expressed happiness over the best treatment offered by the Railway Hospital. (INN)
