Rail-Minister nephew bribery row: BJP says UPA-II ”most corrupt Government ever”

New Delhi, May 4 (ANI): Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Saturday described the Congress-led UPA -II Government by terming it the ”most corrupt government ever” after it was revealed that Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal”s nephew had been allegedly caught accepting bribes. ” This is a ”shameful” and a ”corrupt” government. They have lost all credibility and face. Still they continue, proving that they do not have self-respect and shame. Every second day there is a corruption that comes to the fore exposes the lasting vulnerability of this shameful government,” he said. “Every scam has something to do with the Prime Minister, proving that he is fraud. Half his ministers are involved in famous scams. He then has the audacity to say that this is the most honest and good government in the world. He knows how big a liar he is, so there is no need to reiterate the same old fact. They are now naked in front of the nation and the world,” he added. Naqvi”s statement came shortly after Mahesh Kumar, a senior railway board official, and three others Vijay Singla, Sandeep Goel and Manjunath have been booked for bribery. Mahesh Kumar had given Rs 90 lakh to the three to ensure his shift from Member (Staff) to Member (Electrical) in the Railway Board. A CBI official said that the money has been recovered. Kumar was arrested in Mumbai by a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team soon after flying in from Delhi. The CBI has registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act and the IPC against him. Searches were also carried out at Singla”s residence in Chandigarh. Bansal, is avoiding the media in the wake of the incident. (ANI)
