Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday hailed the Railway Budget presented by Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu, saying that it caters to the needs of every citizen and every sector.
In a series of tweets, Fadnavis thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Suresh Prabhu for ‘No Fare Hike’ and for enhancing allocation to Maharashtra by 206 percent.
“The unique thoughtfulness of Suresh Prabhu ji in thinking about ‘sahayaks’ to including the use of social media and creativity is inspiring! This RailBudget2 016 caters to the needs of every citizen (from youth to women to senior citizens) and every sector (from health to industry). Thank You Hon @sureshpprabhu ji for the path breaking budget which will have a long term impact& investment in infra will be a growth engine. ” he said in a series of tweets.
The Maharashtra Chief Minister also expressed his gratitude to the Railway Minister for giving priority to farmers and fishermen for initiatives of cold storage facilities in vacant land near freight terminals.
“Both elevated corridors, Churchgate to Virar and CST to Panvel will act as the life line of Mumbai and MMR.@sureshpprabhu ji is a Mumbaikar, knows the problems of Mumbai.
Mumbai suburban rail elevated corridor is a path breaking move for decongestion,” he added.
Prabhu today announced two elevated suburban railway corridors for Mumbai.
Mumbai is slated to get an elevated railway corridor from Churchgate-Virar and one CST-Panvel railway corridor.
He said that Mumbai has an overstressed suburban system. “We are working towards achieving financial closure of two elevated corridors between Churchgate and Virar and CST and Panvel,” he said. (ANI)
