The South Zone police today raided the residence of Hamza Bin Omer @ Zafar Pahelwan and seized huge cash, foreign currency and arms. The raid that began around 5pm in the evening continued till late night creating a sensation in the area of Bhavani Nagar.
Teams of Commissioner’s Task force and law and order police of south zone carried out searches at the residence of Zafar Pahelwan while the women police detained the female family members of pahelwan in a room. The Assisant Commissioner of Police Mirchowk M.Kistaiah told reporters that during the search the police have seized 74 lakhs net cash, 5lakhs foreign currency, fixed deposists worth 40 lakhs.
He informed that the police have also 62 cartridges of revolvers while the police have also seized Sword,daggers and kinfes from his residence.
The police shifted the seized money and arms to the concerned police station. It may be remembered that recently Zafar pahelwan and his associates were arrested in arms act case and also in the rowdy sheeter Ahmed Ali Khan @ Ilyas murder case that took place on March 19 in Gym under Kanchanbagh police station limits.
