Rahul, industry leaders to boost morale of Kashmiri students

Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi is all set to visit Kashmir along with the Tata Sons chairman Ratan Tata, Aditya Birla Group chairman Kumar Manglam Birla, HDFC chairman Deepak Parekh, Team Lease co- founder Ashok Reddy and Bajaj Auto MD Rajiv Bajaj.

At the behest of Rahul Gandhi the industry leaders will interact with around 2,000 students of the varsity and ward off their worries at the Kashmir University campus on October 5. They will also discuss employment opportunities in the mainstream. This visit comes on the back of a presidential visit to the campus.

Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi with Union surface transport minister C. P. Joshi is scheduled to visit the Sonamarg area of the Ganderbal district to lay the foundation stone of Z- Morh and Zojila tunnel project.

He would also address the panches and sarpanches living under threat on Friday during his visit to Kashmir Valley. Around 3,000 panches and sarpanches would form a rally at Shere Kashmir International Convention Centre on the banks of Dal Lake.

A remittance of ` 2,000 and ` 3,000 per month from the Prime Minister’s Reconstruction Plan to the village leaders respectively would also be announced. The village elders are under the grip of fear since two elected rural body members were killed last month in the north Kashmir district of Baramulla.
