Rahul Gandhi to hold padyatra in Chhattisgarh today

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi will take out foot march with farmers and party workers on the second day of his visit to Chhattisgarh on Tuesday.

The Gandhi scion will cover around 12 kilometers distance during the foot march which will start from Saradih village and conclude at Dabhra village in Janjgir-Champa district.

Rahul is also likely to address a public meeting at Gabra village before concluding his tour.

Ahead of the foot march, the official Twitter account of Rahul Gandhi tweeted about the padyatra.

The Chhattisgarh government has been constructing seven barrages on the Mahanadi river there to supply water to these projects, and the barrage at Saradih village is among these.

If these projects draws water from the Mahanadi river, there will be no water for farmers as well as people dependent on water bodies for their needs, he said.

On the first day of his tour yesterday, Rahul addressed people in Korba and slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making “tall promises” but not taking any action on them.

The Congress leader also assured the farmers that the Congress party was standing with them.
