Rahul Gandhi postpones Telangana ‘padyatra’ due to extended Lok Sabha session

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi`s scheduled `padyatra` in Telangana has been postponed for May 15 due to the extension of the Lok Sabha session till May 13.

“Due to extension of LS session till 13th May,Rahul Gandhi`s Padyatra in Telangana will now happen on 15th May,” Rahul Gandhi`s office tweeted.

The Congress vice president was to undertake the 15 kilometre yatra on May 12, beginning from Telangana`s Adilabad District and covering five villages.

Last month, Rahul undertook a day-long `kisan padyatra` from Amravati to highlight the farmers` woes.

He travelled about 175 kilometres, including a 15-kilometre walk, through villages of Gunji and Shahapur in Dhamangaon Railway and Rajhna and Tonglabad in Chandur Railway talukas which have seen highest number of suicides this year.
