Rahul Gandhi begins ‘Kisan Sandesh Yatra’

AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi began his 15-kilometre long Kisan Sandesh Yatra in Koritkal of Adilabad district here on Friday.

Accompanied with senior TPCC leaders and hundreds of Congress workers, Rahul Gandhi began his padayatra by visiting the family of Velma Rajeshwar, the farmer who allegedly committed suicide. He handed over a cheque of Rs 1 lakh to the family members. Later, he visited Laxmanchanda where he met the families of two farmers who committed suicide due to agricultural crisis.

The Congress Vice-President will also visit Pottupally, Rachapur and Wadial villages. He will address a meeting at Wadial village at about 4 PM today.

Rahul Gandhi had reached Nirmal via Nanded in Maharashtra on Thursday night and made a night halt at Hotel Mayura Inn at Nirmal. (INN)
