Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi expressed his deep concern over poor quality of development work, particularly construction of road taken out in his Amethi constituency and directed the officers concerned to look into the matter and punish the guilty. He warned the local officials that he did not want to see any slackness in the development work and directed them to maintain quality.
Congress Member of Parliament from Amethi, Rahul Gandhi, once again faced resentment among the local public soon after he landed at Fursatganj Airport this morning on his two days visit to his constituency. Hundred of locals blocked his passage and registered their protest over basic problems faced by them even when they were hailing from one of the VVIP constituencies of the State. The agitated crowd told their representative they were neither getting power supply and conditions of other amenities like roads were also in poor condition.
Mr Gandhi assured the people that he will take the issue with the local authorities reportedly questioned the district officials about the trauma faced by the public soon after he reached to attend District Vigilance and Monitoring Committee meeting at Collectrate Bhawan in Gauriganj.
Rahul, who headed the meeting in presence of District Magistrate and other local MLAs except with one Samajwadi Party Legislator who went to Kolkata to attend Party’s national convention, reportedly directed the DM that he should make an enquiry into poor condition of work taken out in construction of road under Prime Minister Sadak Yojna. He also asked him to ensure that better basic amenities particularly electricity should be provided to the local residents.
