Ahmedabad: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi will visit Gujarat to address a public rally in Mehsana town on December 21, the Gujarat Congress announced here today.
“Rahul Gandhi will address a public rally in Mehsana on December 21. This is his first visit to Gujarat after demonetisation move by the Centre. It is expected that Rahulji would take up the issue of hardships being faced by common men and various other issues concerning farmers during his rally,” Gujarat Congress spokesperson Manish Doshi said.
Gandhi’s visit holds significance in the wake of upcoming assembly polls in Gujarat, expected to be held in the later part of 2017.
Gandhi had earlier visited Gujarat in July this year to meet four dalit youths who were allegedly thrashed by cow vigilantes in Una town of Gir Somnath district.
